CardDeluxe Connections
The CardDeluxe inputs and outputs are labeled on the metal bracket that mounts to the computer chasis. If the labels are not visible, please refer the illustration below:
Balanced Connectors
Common balanced audio connectors are the 1/4" TRS Plug and the 3-Pin XLR connector. Positive, Negative and Ground signals can be transfered through these balanced connectors.
1/4" TRS: Tip (+), Ring (-) and Sleeve (Ground).
3-Pin XLR (mic cable): Pin 1 (Ground), Pin 2 (+), Pin 3 (-).
The CardDeluxe Analog inputs and outputs accomodate 1/4" TRS Plugs.
It is best to use the +4dBu jumper setting on the CardDeluxe when interfacing with balanced equipment.
Unbalanced Connectors
Common unbalanced audio connectors are the 1/4" TS Plug and the RCA style connector. A Positive signal and a Ground can be transfered through these unbalanced connectors.
1/4" TS: Tip (+) and Sleeve (Ground).
RCA: Pin (+) and Shell (Ground)
The CardDeluxe Analog inputs and outputs accomodate 1/4" TS Plugs. Unbalanced signal can be adapted from a 1/4" TS connection to RCA style plug with a 1/4" to RCA adapter or adapting cable (available in our online store).
It is best to use the -10dBV jumper setting on the CardDeluxe when interfacing with unbalanced equipment.
